Josh Frank grew up in the suburbs of Massachusetts.  He began his martial arts training in Judo and Karate under the teachings of his father when he was less than 10 years old. As Josh puts it, “some kids watched football with their Dad, but we built things in his workshop and threw each other around the backyard.”

Josh began wrestling varsity when he was a freshman and continued studying karate during college, then taekwondo in NYC under Master Suk Jun Kim.

In 1998 Josh found the Bujinkan and trained under Jeff Christian for twelve years.  He met Rob Flanagan in Japan in 1999 and has been studying the art with him ever since.  In 2010 Josh received his godan (5th Degree Black Belt) and became a licensed shidoshi.
